When you have a car that you and your family just really enjoy, but rebuilding the engine
becomes common place, maybe it's time to consider another alternative. This customer ordered
up a complete '08 5.3L engine with DOD/AFM on it to make his family cruiser a little more enjoyable.
He brought us the car, engine, and 4L65E Transmission to install and get it all back in running order.

The original engine... it's seen better days.

Here is the completed project. The Original harness from the 5.3L was re-used and modifed to work.
The engine compartment was cleaned up while the engine was out.

An aftermarket A/C system was installed, along with a custom Afco Radiator and electric wiper motor.

A nice touch we liked was the former "Autronic eye" box on the Driver's side fender
worked perfectly as a housing for the new fuse/relay block. Also, the fresh air inlet from the
dr. side air vent made for a nice place to put the air filter and get some nice cold air.
As a final touch, we put the Cadillac Covers on the engine to make it a bit more appropriate.
